Dear King Family,
I am so sorry to have learned about Dick's passing. Loosing a loved one to death is one of the most difficult experiences to have to deal with. That's because we were not created to have to deal with death of a loved one. But for now we must taste that sting and I am so sorry for your loss. What can help us to cope is the invitation our loving Creator, Jehovah God, gives us at 1Peter 5:7 where he asks us to "throw all our anxiety on him because he cares for us". He cares so much that he promises at Revelation 21:3,4 to do away with death forever! I do hope that these wonderful promises from God's word the Bible help you to get through this terrible loss.

I remember Dick from his early years as we grew up together and played together as youngsters. My sister, Carol, and I were across the street neighbors of the King family. We kids were outside as much as possible and extensively explored the nearby woods, hills, and streams or made up games to amuse ourselves. We biked together, trick-or-treated together, went to ice cream socials at the firehall and "suppers" at grange. It sure was a different time back then, but I remember it with fondness. I hope Dick did too. After high school, we went our separate ways and pretty much lost touch, though we did exchange emails once after an MHS reunion some years back. It was through an email from another classmate that I learned this sad news. I know you, both his immediate family and his extended family, will all miss him very much. He was a good guy.

Dear Father King,
It is difficult to express the sadness that I feel at your passing. I know that you can't read my words, but I hope that in some way you can receive the message, even if relayed through an angel. I want you to know that I couldn't have asked for a better father-in-law. You never waited to be asked before you would jump in to help no matter what the task. I took great comfort in knowing that if anything ever happened to me that you would be there for Melissa and the boys no matter what. You accepted me into your family, trusted me with your daughter, and showed nothing but support. I will miss shooting the bull about hunting, football, tractors, or whatever other topic that would come up. I will miss playing cards and hearing you yell at soccer and football games. I couldn't have asked for a better father to my wife, grandfather to my kids, or father-in-law to me. I will miss you as will everyone else who knew you. Until we meet again, may you rest in peace.

I would just like to say that I am so sorry for your family's loss. I grew up hearing about Dickie from my Dad and all their crazy times together. I'd met him several times over the years & enjoyed being around him! I know my parents enjoyed their yearly visits with Dickie & Barb and of course things to do with Nascar racing.
He will be missed very much. My Prayers go out to you Barb and the rest of the family & friends during this very difficult time.
