Margaret S. "Peg" Pross, 80, of Milan, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre with her family by her side. She was born on February 9, 1936 in Williamsport, PA the daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Doughton) Schanbacher. Peg was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She owned and operated with her husband, Bob, from 1972-1999 Bob Pross TV and Appliances in Sayre, PA. Peg enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, and doing jigsaw puzzles. In her younger years, she loved sewing, especially making her children's clothes and items for her family. She is predeceased by her husband of 47 years Robert "Bob" Pross in 2004, sister and brother-in-law Martha and James Norwood, and brother William Schanbacher. Margaret is survived by her children Glen and Rose Marie Pross of San Jose, CA, Douglas A. Pross of Milan, PA, Donna and David Birks of Athens, PA, and Cynthia A. Pross of Albany, NY, grandchildren Joy (TJ) Goldenberg of Stockton, CA, Hope Pross of San Jose, CA, Sean Pross of Sayre, PA, Ethen Pross of Camp Lejeune, NC, Lauren Pross of Athens, PA, Keiren Pross of Athens, PA, Brittney Birks of Athens, PA, Jaclyn (Bobby) Cianfoni of Athens, PA, Heather Birks of Athens, PA, David Birks, Jr. of Athens, PA, and Victoria DelaCancela of Albany, NY, great-grandchildren, Riley Worden of Athens, PA, Margaret "Maggie" Cianfoni of Athens, PA, and Shoshanna Goldenberg of Stockton, CA, siblings Tom (Mary) Schanbacher, Mary Jean Schanbacher, John (Tom Cortwright) Schanbacher, Jane (Mike) Weaver, Ellen (Ron) Reed, and Betty Lou (Darel) Kyle, sister-in-law Jean Schanbacher, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also is survived by special friends Pauline Brennan, Emily Petrosky, and Bob and Joyce Birks, and many others that will remember her kindness over the years. Friends and family may call on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 4pm – 7pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremations Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 1pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Anne Canfield officiating. Donations may be made in Margaret's memory to a charity of one's choice.
