My condolences to Verns family. He was an amazing man! I never met anyone so kind and caring as him. He would take you directly to your car in the evenings and wait for you to leave the parking lot. He was one of a kind and will be missed!

Mr. Rogers was my bus driver in Athens about 25-30 years ago. He was a fun bus driver to have. From the end of the year water fights to stopping at D&R ice cream on the way home during the last weeks of school. Good memories!

I have awesome memories of Vern and my late night rides to my car after work...he would always take me right to my vehicle, wait til I was in and going before leaving..we would converse about anything...I still smell his aftershave at times and it reminds me of him....what a gentle soul...memories for comfort to the family and R.I.P to Vern...xxoo

So sorry to hear of Sonny's passing. I remember him from way back to when I was a teenager. What a good man he was and I'm sure he will be missed by so many. God was ready for him even though his family and friends weren't so ready to let him go. Praying for God to give you all peace and comfort during this difficult time.

It's just hard to believe Vern that you got your wings to young ...always enjoyed riding the bus evenings and Chating with you ....To your Family ....I am so sorry to hear of this but God wanted him because he was a good man .....A classmate and a dear friend he was !!! RIP VERN !!!!
