I am from Chemung but joined the Army many years ago and now live in Tx. I am just discovering Mike’s passing. I felt compelled to express my deepest condolences and to share how important he was to me. I have been a nurse for almost 25 years and had always dreamed to be. when I graduated in the early 90’s, Mike was a charge nurse at (What was then) Tioga Nursing Facility. He was one of the most skilled, compassionate and intuitive nurses I have ever had the pleasure of working with, military or civilian and I have known many. Mike was the first RN to step up and say he would allow me to work on my graduate certificate, as a nurse under his license, until I took the NCLEX. He was such a big burly guy but so caring and he was a fantastic teacher. I spent the rest of my career striving to have others view me and describe me as I see Mike. I am sorry he is no longer in your physical presence but please rest assured, his legacy reaches far and wide!

Dear Dee and family,
I am so saddened to hear of Mike's passing. He was a 'gentle man' and a wonderful compassionate nurse. I was blessed to have known him and honored to have worked with him at RPH.
