Gerald "Jerry" Kinch, 78, of Sayre, PA passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at home following a brief illness. He was born April 7, 1933 in Canton, PA the son of the late Erastus and Avena Kilborn Kinch. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and bowling. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict where he received the Purple Heart. Jerry taught in the Waverly School System. He is predeceased by his son Charles Kinch, brother Bill Kinch, and sister Mary Nowaczyk. Gerald is survived by his wife 56 years Diane, children Steven and Michelle Kinch of Port St. Lucie, FL, grandchildren Erica, Kayla, and Steven, great-grandchildren Ares, and several nieces and nephews. At his request there will be no calling hours or services. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Burial will in Tioga Point Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in Jerry’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
